To Debut: "Kitchen Sink 'n-Anything Else" Band

FRMC Charlie's Chaplains are busily preparing for the debut of their new "Kitchen Sink 'n Anything Else" Band at Family Fair with FRMC at CVCC in Hickory on April 21st. Featuring a wild, varied assortment of handmade musical instruments, the band recently held a jam session to gear up for all the fun.

Most of the musical instruments are made from recycled materials. After all, there is a certain charm and flair to recycling things and reusing them in a new way, plus they cost next-to-nothing especially if they are just about to be thrown it out anyway, right?!

Last year the way was paved for using recycled materials for band instruments at this event, when Charlie's Chaplains obtained pickle buckets from FRMC food service for their "Pickle Bucket Band." Each member decorated their pickle bucket in a unique and special way. Charlie's Chaplains were also blessed to have two drumming lessons from 2 professionals in preparation for the big gig.

Family Fair '06 presented only one challenge -- the event was held indoors due to rain -- the sound was deafening!
