Launching: Jr. Joeys' Apprenticeship Program

On February 10, 2007 FRMC Charlie’s Chaplains launches an exciting new program for interested young people under the age of 15: “Charlie’s Chaplains’ Junior Joeys' Apprenticeship

Junior Joeys will meet monthly to learn about the art of clowning, character development and costuming. They will learn skills, about performing in different venues and creative ministry performance ideas. In keeping with our concept of being a "hospital creative ministry," they do not have to be “clowns.” Scheduled public performance opportunities in tandem with FRMC Charlie’s Chaplains will offer opportunities to apply the various facets of study. No doubt the Junior Joeys will have a lot to offer and a lot to show the rest of us!

Beginning early in the new year will give us time to warm up and prepare for performances with FRMC this spring. We will meet monthly on selected Saturdays. Upon demonstration of proficiency and professionalism to ably serve in a creative ministry capacity at FRMC, Jr. Joeys will ‘graduate’ to active Charlie’s Chaplains status. Achieving this status depends entirely upon each individual Junior Joey’s development.
We are very excited about this new program! It has been established because we have received several requests for children to become involved with Charlie's Chaplains. Restrictions do apply and there is a required admission process to enroll a young person.
