Our upcoming Charlie's Chaplains' Skool '07 Big Top Training marks the beginning of a new year for us, which means the end of 2006-07 is near. This gives us pause to remember but a few of the many memorable moments from this year of blessings:
51 registered to attend Skool '06, our first Skool held in a facility large enough to contain us all and allowing plenty of space to perform, practice and G-R-O-W--!
We celebrated Charlie's Chaplains' 15 years of sharing healing humor at FRMC, along with our 3 founding pastors. Read more about that event.
On Rounds late last fall, we were greeted by a previous Nose Transplant patient of ours, who expressed deep appreciation for our having operated on him and he treasured his nose. Would you believe he was our first Nose Transplant patient?
We've been visiting the youth at FRMC South Campus monthly for nearly 1 1/2 years.
Speaking of youth, we established a Junior Joeys program this year!
In January, we were honored to be featured in The Hospital Clown Newsletter.
Got some great color-full noses and toys ordered thru The Hospital Clown Newsletter!
Charlie's Chaplains has enjoyed receiving ongoing response and encouragements of joy and enjoyment shared by the staff, patients and visitors.
We had fun at Family Fair with FRMC and our "Kitchen-Sink-and-Anything-Else-You-Want" Band!
Interest in Charlie's Chaplains' Skool '07 has already been expressed by folks wanting to attend! They are from this area, other parts of NC and out-of-state.
We are preparing an incredible Skool for this fall, and are very excited about the prospect of presenting a special "Pre-Skool" session Friday night on "How to Establish a Hospital Clown or Creative Ministry." Others seem to be pretty excited about this, too.
The 2006-07 Skool Year will close out with our infamous Nose Transplant Clinic August 1-7, 2007, as our way of celebrating International Clown Week -- stay tuned for more on that!
